Book Review of the Month!
Title: Journey Under the Sea
Author: R.A. Montgomery

Recommended for: Primary 5 and 6
This is a clever book, first published in 1979. Journey Under the Sea mandates that the reader, "a highly experienced deep-sea explorer," must determine his adventure, while searching for the lost city of Atlantis, by using a choice of numbered references. I rate this book 7 out of 10, and a must-read for those hooked on exciting escapades involving a deep-sea hunt!
An example of how the book works: At the end of page two, the reader is given a choice of exploring a ledge and moving on to page six, OR cutting loose from his vessel to dive into a canyon on the ocean floor and moving onto page four, OR simply reading to page three where two more options are offered.
The reader may proceed quickly only to be sent backward. If he makes a mistake, the story ends abruptly with disaster, even death! Yet, a skilled, determined reader will read and reread the options, delving further and deeper into the sea, experiencing new and different adventures on the way to the lost Atlantis. You, the reader, decides what happens throughout the whole story!
